Something to Break To (mix)

Its been a hot minute so here is another free mix for you to enjoy! I originally did this for Breakin' Bread, A famous night club night based in London that ran for about 8 or 9 years? I was down as a resident DJ along side Paul T, Skeg, Tuff Kut and the mighty Rob Life (one of the dopest B-boy & party DJ's I've seen and heard!) Big up Rob evey time.

Westwood Dub Plates (Part 2) - The Roots & The Gravediggaz

Ok not a dub plate as such but does anyone remember this studio session? Rahzel, Black Thought, Hurricane and Rza from the Gravediggaz? - Hearing this again makes me feel good about growing up at a time when Hip Hop was about skills.

Pub Jams and Civic Centres and Scout Huts!

My first experience of playing out was with a local Reggae sound system called MasterBlaster Muzik... erm reggae soundsystem in Woking? well yes... they use to hold dances in Knaphill Community Centre (hahahahahaha my aunt had her wedding reception there!) and other dope spots like the Old Woking Scout hut!.. I shit you not they where a road block, heavy heavy dub, lovers rock, boogie, soul and me 15 years old playing Hip Hop! the people that put on the nights where my Brothers mates. I played for 3 hours and got paid £20 and a cheese sandwich! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... fucking hell!...

Danse Riot was the name of the first jam we (Prone and Tom and Me) put together around 1992. Prone got the name from Spatz the legendary 80's Hip Hop club night in London (Oxford Street I think)... Anyway Prone said they used to shout 'Danse Riot' when there was a B-Boy Battle and he thought it was a cool name to use for our night... we later changed the name to Funky Junction! not sure why, must have been to much Acid Jazz / Talking Loud releases at the time YUK!! hahahahaha... only joking :-)

Actually this is the first time I meet Tom/Globule/Tommi Koi now Tommi Koi beat maker master (then later meet Huw72 - Positive Step/Beyondthere early days).
It was all about the local Pub Jam! I wish I kept the flyers... Big up Jazz T early DJ rival and long time friend one of the most dedicated Dj's I know and a dam good one.

Funky Junction Kingston!

more random flyers from the suburbs! all around '92-94
